RWTH Aachen University will host the 6th International Conference in Ocean Engineering (ICOE) 2023 from 04-08.06.2023. There will also be a presentation about the Trilawatt project: “High-resolution data-based geomorphological analyses of the trilateral Wadden Sea”. The paper was written by smile Consult (Julian Sievers and Peter Milbradt) in collaboration with TU Delft (Ana Colina Alonso). An abstract of the paper is available for download below.
The TrilaWatt project was presented at the Wadden Sea Forum Plenary Meeting held in Harlingen, the Netherlands on the 28th and 29th of March 2023. There were representatives from the agricultural, energy, fishing, harbors, industry, and tourism sectors as well as from local and regional governments at the plenary meeting. The participants of the plenary meeting and the members of the Wadden Sea Forum have agreed to a submission forwarded to the Wadden Sea Board, which calls for support in data acquisition on a trilateral level as well as closer cooperation between the TrilaWatt project and the trilateral working and expert groups.
On February 16, 2023, TrilaWatt stakeholders were updated on the current state of research and encouraged to participate in future data products at the 2nd TrilaWatt Steakholder Workshop. Robert Hagen (BAW) will present a poster at the AGU Fall Meeting 2022 on December 12. The title of the poster at the American Geophysical Union event is: “Can Intertidal Flats Accrete Faster Than Sea Level Rises? A Data Analysis from the World’s Largest Coherent Channel-Shoal System“.
Andreas Plüß (BAW) presented the TrilaWatt project at the 4th webinar of the Wadden Sea Sediment Solutions Community of Understanding. Title of the presentation: “Digital hydromorphological twin of the trilateral Wadden Sea TrilaWatt”.
The mFUND project TrilaWatt is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure BMDV for 3 years since 01.01.2022. It is processed by the Federal Waterways Engineering and Research Institute BAW, smile consult GmbH, Wadden Sea Forum e. V. and planGIS GmbH.
